S’more pain, s’more yum!

Set it on FIRE!

I’m still in an enormous amount of pain. It’s getting quite annoying. I went back to the chiropractor today and had a fantastic hour long massage. It felt fantastic until I went to turn over. Then I was back to the sharp pain that just.won’t.stop. I feel like I’ve been in an honest to god train wreck.

MAKE IT STOP!

But lets not linger on the negative. Tonight we hosted a s’mores indoors party at work (I work for an apartment community). It was AWESOME. Who doesn’t love a good s’more. There’s something about setting your food on fire that’s really satisfying and oh so fun.

It’s was a huge hit too. We were expecting around 10 people to show up and we had more like 30! Best resident event we’ve had in a while.

It was easy to set up and looked fantastic. We put a few sternos (the ‘canned heat’ you use to keep buffets warm) in ceramic bowls with some decorative rocks, added some platters with graham crackers and chocolate, and had bowls of marshmallows with some already on skewers and let people make their s’mores.

Now it’s not quite the same as making a s’more around a campfire, but hello! All the fun of s’mores without the sleeping on the ground or lack of electricity that accompanies camping!

There was also a pretty kick ass hot chocolate bar. Crushed peppermint, whipped cream, Bailey’s Irish Cream, some sprinkles…. YUM!

It was a really fun night (I’ll update with pics tomorrow!). I felt like a little kid again.

What foods remind you of good childhood memories?

I replied to your comment on my blog before reading yours. Sorry to hear that you’re still in pain. Unfortunately (at least in my experience), it seems that visits to the Chiropractor can be hit or miss. Sometimes they fix the issue within a visit or two… sometimes it seems to take forever to get just the right adjustment to make the pain go away, and sometimes even a different Chiropractor with a different approach. Then your body has to cooperate and heal properly too. Here’s hoping that you find relief soon!

Lucky Charms cereal always reminds me of childhood. I still buy a box now and then for nostalgia’s sake (and because they’re yummy).
